PORTO HELI

Home  / Athens - Chalkida - Porto Heli

Porto Heli, also known as the Greek Riviera, is built around a cove forming a natural harbor. It can be easily reached both by road since it is just a two-hour drive from Athens, and by sea from the port of Piraeus.

The landscape with numerous coves and crystal-clear waters, the pine-clad land and harbor providing anchorage to yachts, as well as the area’s modern hotel infrastructure and many stylish restaurants, taverns, ouzeries, bars and cafes, render Porto HeliI one of the most cosmopolitan tourist resorts with worldwide reputation.

Some of the area’s amazing beaches are the fine-grained beach of Hinitsa with a view to the namesake island, Kounoupi, Agios Emilianos, Ververonda, and pine-clad Korakia with its translucent waters. Apart from the several organized beaches, there are also numerous pristine coves with crystal-clear waters, and some of them can be reached only by boat.

The cosmopolitan island of Spetses is within easy reach by water taxi or private craft from Port HELI; also easily accessible are the town of Nafplio (80 km), Mycenae (100 km), the ancient theater of Epidaurus (55 km) which hosts an ancient Greek drama festival in the summer months, as well as the Saronic Gulf islands, i.e. Hydra, Poros and Aigina.
